Denmark offers excellent cycle routes. The route along the west coast, part of the North Sea Cycle Route has been given three star status by the German ADFC.  We discussed the route with a Danish Tourist Authority person at a recent VELOBerlin exhibition. He suggested that this does not seem to be a good route for road bikes as there are stretches where one needs to cycle on a hard packed beach.

The Berlin to Copenhagen cycle route joins the two capitol cities. Once underway the countryside is very rural and there is a trip by ship in the middle.

Copenhagen itself is a fascinating city with superb cycling facilities. Club together to send your local government transportation boss to let him or her learn how to integrate cycling into city life.

The website is an excellent route planner and supplies all the information cyclists require to tour in Denmark.
